Wow your guests with this delicious combination of flavours at your next drinks gathering. This simple dish combines the winning formula of the slightly sour and tangy character of goat cheese combined with the rich smoky flavours of chorizo and the sweet floral notes of honey to create a symphony on the palate.

Ingredients

  • 150g soft goat cheese, diced

  • 125g cream cheese, diced

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • ½ clove garlic, crushed

  • Salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 200g Skara chorizo, skin removed and diced

  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 2 teaspoons runny honey

  • Pitta crisps, to serve

  • Prep time: 15 minutes
  • Serves: 6

Method

  1. In a food processor combine goat cheese, cream cheese, zest, garlic, salt and pepper, blending until smooth. Spoon mixture into a large shallow serving bowl and refrigerate until required.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add chorizo and cook for 3 minutes or until golden. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  3. Spoon chorizo and pan juices on top of whipped goat cheese. Garnish with parsley and to finish drizzle honey on top.
  4. Serve whipped goats cheese with pitta crisps.
