Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: Makes 20 pinwheels
Ingredients
- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 4-6 tbsp pizza sauce or tomato paste
- 1 packet Skara Chorizo Salami
- 1-2 cups grated tasty cheese
- Fresh basil
Method
- Preheat oven to 180˚C.
- Spread puff pastry sheets with pizza sauce or tomato paste.
- Layer each sheet with Skara Chorizo Salami slices (approx 9 slices per sheet), grated cheese and fresh basil, leaving a 2-3 cm border along one end. Roll each sheet into a log shape in this direction, so the border becomes the seal.
- Slice logs into 1-2 cm rolls and arrange on a lined baking tray.
- Bake pinwheels in the oven for around 30 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden.
Note: Pinwheels can be prepared ahead of time. Roll up into a log shape, wrap in cling film and store in the fridge for a couple of days or freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw fully before cooking.
