Chorizo SalamiAn easy recipe suitable for all skill types with only 5 ingredients. Chorizo salami is a Spanish inspired salami, made with fresh pork and a medium ground texture with mild paprika, garlic and basil flavour.

  • Prep Time: 15 Minutes

  • Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

  • Serves: Makes 20 pinwheels

Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 4-6 tbsp pizza sauce or tomato paste
  • 1 packet Skara Chorizo Salami
  • 1-2 cups grated tasty cheese
  • Fresh basil

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180˚C.
  2. Spread puff pastry sheets with pizza sauce or tomato paste.
  3. Layer each sheet with Skara Chorizo Salami slices (approx 9 slices per sheet), grated cheese and fresh basil, leaving a 2-3 cm border along one end. Roll each sheet into a log shape in this direction, so the border becomes the seal.
  4. Slice logs into 1-2 cm rolls and arrange on a lined baking tray.
  5. Bake pinwheels in the oven for around 30 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden.

Note: Pinwheels can be prepared ahead of time. Roll up into a log shape, wrap in cling film and store in the fridge for a couple of days or freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw fully before cooking.
